CORE VALUES
Our Core Values are based on Christian principles and are shared without reservation. We do everything for the purpose of Evangelism. Specifically, we:
- Respect the language, culture, laws, and institutions of host countries
- Respect the rights of all people regardless of social standing, race, colour, or religious beliefs
- Co-operate with host governments, their leaders, and local administrators and express appreciation for their help in making our programs successful
- Involve local authorities, churches, and organizations
- Train and employ local people, particularly women, minorities, and marginalized people
- Care for and improve the environment
- Reduce poverty and improve people's quality of life and job opportunities
- Train volunteers and interns for involvement in overseas projects
- Employ management principles designated as MOR (Management by Objectives and Results)
- Follow standards of accountability endorsed by the Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC). In certain overseas programs, we use a less sophisticated, but trustworthy standard, the Progressive Accounting System.
- Document results and report regularly to host governments and supporters
- Work quietly and manage media to avoid unnecessary publicity and notoriety
- Welcome new vision and challenges with appropriate assessment of risks
- Introduce, promote, share, and transfer technologies
- Require high moral and ethical standards, and excellence in project selection presentation, and management
- Form strategic alliances with other organizations to accomplish goals
- Avoid involvement in political issues and controversial agendas of special interest groups
